Are you eligible for a VAT reclaim?

If your organisation incurs VAT abroad you could be entitled to a refund. While each country has its own rules, the main criteria usually include:

  • Where your business is based
  • Your VAT registration status
  • The nature of your expenses

Most businesses know they should reclaim VAT to reduce their expenses. However, the process is complex, time-sensitive and hard to scale internally. That’s where Fintua comes in.

We manage the entire process – backed by local tax expertise – to help you stay compliant and recover more. If you’re a medium to large business with spend in multiple countries, our VAT analysis can show you exactly how much you’re leaving behind.

What’s the typical timeline for reclaiming VAT?

In most EU countries the tax year runs from 1st January to the 31st December, with VAT claims due by the 30th September of the following year.

For non-EU businesses, deadlines vary but for many countries it’s 30th June.

Some countries allow retrospective (late) claims, giving you a second change to recover missed VAT.

Fintua handles the complexities of each country’s requirements so nothing slips through the cracks.
